Welcome to New London High School Athletics!

NLHS students and families.

I hope this finds each one of you healthy and safe. My name is Phil Orbe and I am the Director of Athletics for New London Public Schools. The purpose of this correspondence to connect with those interested in participating in athletics this school year at NLHS.  As I am sure most of you know the uncertainty of athletics at the high school this school year has been greatly debated. At this moment, all fall teams (football, soccer, cross country, girls swimming, and volleyball) are up and running.  

Each prospective student-athlete is required to register for their desired sport. Student-athletes are not allowed to begin practice without registering with the director of athletics. You are encouraged to register for a sport all three seasons.  An up to date physical (conducted within the past 15 months) is also necessary. These can be emailed directly to me.  Our district has developed a detailed reopening plan for athletics that puts the safety and welfare of our student-athletes and coaches first and foremost. The plan can be found here.

To view game schedules for the 2020-2021 school year click here  Schedules are constantly being updated. There is an option to “follow” a team. This will allow you to get email notifications when a schedule gets altered.

We are excited to announce the addition of strength and conditioning coordinators for each season. These two certified exercise science trainers are available for both in season and out of season athletes and teams to improve speed, strength, flexibility, agility and stamina. Take advantage of this opportunity.
